The Run Hard club is an eight week running club for Elementary and Middle Schoolers that equips students to run a 5K. During the season, students train twice a week for about 1 1/2 hours with a focus on endurance training and the Run Hard Core Values. Practice days for individual schools are listed below. Please contact individual schools for specific start and finish times and other school-specific details.
On 5K race day, schools will start in waves that are designated by color. The color for this division is Gold.
Please note: if you chose to register using paper forms, schools may already be full before we receive your form. To be guaranteed a spot, you should register online, which will immediately reserve your spot.
The Run Hard race is a 5k (3.1 mile) on May 5, 2018. Check in begins at 7:00 am and the race begins at 8:00 am.
The race location is Saluda Shoals at 6071 St. Andrews Road, Columbia, SC 29212.
For Run Hard participants, the race will be officially timed, so you can be sure your time will be accurate.
This race is free to all Run Hard club members and one running buddy. Running buddies will not be timed.
Running buddies must be 16 years or older and will need to sign and return the Running Buddy form to the school coaches.
Awards will be given to the top 10 per grade level per gender.
Participants earn rewards along the way. For example, when runners accomplish 1.5 miles they have earned their Run Hard t-shirt. Our goal is to reward participants for working hard to achieve a goal. Upon completion of the program, each participant will have earned a water bottle, dri-fit moisture wicking shirt and finisher medal.
